Chapter one: Old Friends

It was a quiet sunny day in the Hidden Leaf Village also known as Konoha. Lady Tsunade, the Fifth Hokage was getting ready to assign squad seven their mission for today.
"What!? Why can't we get a better mission than a stupid delivery one?" The blonde shinobi shouted in anger. Before he knew it, the pink haired kunoichi swung a punch at the back of his head. "You're such a pain Naruto!" She growled.
Lady Tsunade's vains were sticking out of her forehead in frustration, "Naruto! This is an important mission, and I need you to take this package to Karakura Town to a man called  Kis-"
Before the Hokage could finish explaining the mission, the creeking of the door behind them sounded as it swung open to reveal two Kunoichi. Naruto and Sakura's heads whipped around to see. One had spiky black hair which was tied up, she had pale blue eyes which had a purple shine when the sun hit them. She was tall a bit shorter than Naruto, pocessed a pale, slim figure, wearing a blue vest and black shorts with a blue cloth decorated with a dragon print tied around her waist. The foreign kunoichi had a Waterfall Village headband tied loosely around her neck. It was none other than the courier nin, Watatsumi Sora.

The other, standing infront of Sora was quite a bit shorter. She was visually Sora's opposite; brown curly hair which was left loosy cascading down her back with a curvy figure. Dazzling green eyes that stood out against her golden brown skin. She was clothed in a mesh undergarment, which was seen through her plunging green halter v-neck top. Her brown headband, situated around her forehead clearly beared the Iwakakgure symbol, The Village Hidden in the Stones. She was a highly skilled medical ninja, by the name of Toraneko Kaori.
Both, old friends of Naruto and Sakura. Well, Sora never got along with the Haruno girl. Due to severe personality differences and clashes. Sora found her quite irritating and couldn't stand her weak and emotional attitute and response to life's problems.

"Shitsurei shimashita, Tsunade-sama, the head of my village said you had a mission for us." Kaori politely bowed to the Hokage. Before stepping forward, towards her wooden desk. Sora followed suit. Naruto smiled sheepishly as he stared in awe at the two. "Wow, you two have certainly changed..." Kaori's full pink lips instantly responded with her signature coy, bright white feline smile of hers. She quickly kissed his cheek before saying, "Arigato, Naruto-kun." The Uzumaki boy's grin became even wider as he subconsciously placed his hand on his cheek. Sora playfully rolled her blue, pupil-less eyes at the older girl next to her. Sora and Kaori sensed Sakura's frustrated vibes wafting off her as they stood next to her. The pink haired kunoichi's fist was clenched tightly. Her pale green eyes surveyed the two up and down. Scanning their newly developed bodies enviously. The two foreign ninja noticed this, but payed no heed to her, the only response was smug smirks enchanged between the two.

"Naruto, don't tell me you let that weakling hit you again?" Sora teased as she turned to face Sakura, letting her see her smug smirk upon her pale face. She always took self satisfaction from irritating the girl. Sakura's knuckles turned white as she clenched her first even tighter. Naruto laughed nervously. Sakura whipped her head around to glare at the boy, silencing him. Kaori gently placed a reassuring hand on the younger girl's shoulder. "Sakura, she's only messing with you." Her voice had a warm tone to it, which seemed it could dissolve any tension or fear in a situation. She then chuckled softly. Kaori enjoyed the differenr reactions of people to Sora's jeering.

Tsunade cleared her throat so she could attempt to explain the mission, but was interrupted once again by Naruto. "Hold on, why are you two back anyways?" He enquired while pointing at the foreign ninja. "Not that I'm complaning, or anything..." His sheepish smile returning to his face. Sakura forcefully nudged him in the ribs with her elbow. She didn't like the treat of the male attention she craved, to be given to other kunoichi.
Tsunade slammed her manicured hands on the table, "Shut up and listen then, anata baka!"

The four jumped simultaniously at the loud boom of the fifth's voice. "The four of you will be going to Karakura town delivering this package to a man named Urahara Kisuke. He owns a small shop there. I'll give you a map if you get lost. Sora and Kaori are here filling in for Kakashi and Sai. Before you ask, Kakashi is on a another mission and will meet up with you later on. Oh, and one other thing if anything happens to this package…well… you don't want to know." She narrowed her brown eyes dangerously at Naruto. "Since Sora is a specially trained courier nin, this mission shouldn't be a difficulty for you four."

The four ninja left the village and began their journey to Karakura town where they will make new fiends and enemies. They spent most of the day jumping through tree tops. The team stopped in a forest clearing where they set up camp for the night. Sora and Naruto were looking at the map to find where Karakura town actually was.
"Here it is! It's an island next to the Land of Fire, it's called Japan." Sora explained to the team. Sakura and Naruto exchanged bewilderedand confused glances. "Japan? I've never heard of it." Sakura said as anxiously rushed over to the map. Just to make sure Sora was trying to get the better of her, and pull the wool over her eyes. Sakura's shoulders sank when the realisation that Sora was actually telling the truth, sunk in.
"We go south east from here and then cross the sea by boat."  The black haired Kunoichi clarified. "It'll take us two days in to get there and another two to get back. So that's four days in total. Yep, it looks like my four day plan will work, well, it might take us longer if we run into enemy ninja or end up getting stuck in a storm at sea, but I'm sure we'll be fine."
"Geez Sora, you always think the worst!" Naruto moaned while getting slapped in the face with the map by Sora. "Shut up Naruto, you stupid moron!"

The four settled around the camp fire eating fresh fish which Naruto and Sora caught from the lake near by, with the exception of Kaori, who didn't eat meat. She had caught Sakura sneeking a quick glance at her again. This time, she locked eye contact with the younger girl. Sakura's dimmer green eyes flitted downcast in embarrassment that Kaori had caught her in the act. "Are you okay, Sakura?" Her tone invited confidence, without demanding it. "Y-Yeah, I was just wondering how come you're here..." Her posture eased slightly as Kaori smiled reassuringly. Sora had her back facing the three, with her legs drawn up to herself, shifting every so often to make herself comfortable in her unconscious state.
"Well, my family clan are making huge arrangements and allies with Konoha, due to our large military and medical renforcements that we send to other countries. Sora and I also wanted to come and visit." Sakura nodded in understanding. "We want to travel to all the Nations. Since Sora is a courier nin, it's in her job to do so as she delievers extrmemely important packages and scrolls to various clan leaders and Kages." Naruto's blue eyes seemed to glitter in captivation at the thought. "Sora and I work in sync extremely well. We're like two opposites that fit one another. Like the Sun and the Moon. Equally dependant, and in harmony with the other." Kaori's green eyes reflected the brilliant light of the flames before them. Her speech taking the tone of deep thought and understanding.
"I'm Sora's guard in a sense. The sheild that protects her. Couriers are generally fast, agile ninja. Good genjutsu techniques are also a bonus if they run into trouble, allowing them to make a quick exit. Having a medical ninja present is a huge advantage to them, and being physically powerfull is also a bonus too." Her tan face bearing her brilliant white smile again.

A quiet snore sounded from the sleeping ninja in the corner, causing Naruto and Sakura to be stirred from their thoughts of all the different countries that Kaori and Sora had visited. Kaori giggled at her unconscious partner. Naruto yawned and stretched. "I think we better get some shut eye." The two girls nodded before getting themselves comfortable to fall asleep. "Good night, Sakura. Nite, Kaori-chan."

Dawn approached and the squad was already on the move, with Sora holding the package and Kaori leading the way while the other two watched their backs. Thankfully, Sora's two day plan was going accordingly as they arrived at the port at dusk.
Which gave them just over half a day to get to the town.
The small port town was light with street lights, and the local people of the town were still out buying and selling at the stalls. Some stalls and shops were closing up from the busy day of the afternoon. When they reached the town, they stopped for a few nessesary supplies.
"You guys ready? The ship will be leaving soon." Sora announced as she lifted her dark blue sachel, as well as the package and walked towards the huge boat. Kaori lifted her bags, which were filled with various medical supplies and weapon scrolls. She then followed her partner into the line of people boarding. Naruto and Sakura followed suit and they all boarded the ship The S.S Victoria.
Hey. It's a new fanfic made and it is a mix between Bleach and Naruto.
